I’m Lauren, but call me Lauttie.
I love a good party. I could plan my whole life around Holidays & Mahjong, so I figured why not do just that? If I need this in my life, there are other women out there who need this too.
It isn’t that I believe we need a reason to celebrate a holiday or a special occasion, because we’ve been doing that for years, haven’t we? It isn’t that I believe we need a reason to play mahjong, although I know some husbands may think you do. It’s that I believe we need a reason to check in with each other weekly, to keep our minds sharp, to mark momentous occasions, to spend holidays together, all while realizing we aren’t so different in our relationships and lives.
For me, Mahjong has become a way to connect with my girlfriends, my sisters, my daughters and my precious mom. I truly cherish the time when I can get a game going at Thanksgiving with my aunts and cousins! Oh how I wish my aunt Gloria and my grandmothers were alive to play mahjong with over the holidays.
I believe Mahj is a generational bond that quickly becomes a tradition. It creates a reason to get together and spend quality time with your favorite people! So let’s hire a trainer to learn the game, teach a newcomer, plan that party to celebrate a new baby, a bride to be, give a single mom a life line, help a friend through the loss of a loved one or a divorce, celebrate any & every holiday you possibly can!

About My Mahj Group
Every New Years my mahj group starts with $20 worth of change to play with throughout the year.
Every Thanksgiving we count our money and declare who the winner was for the year.
Every Christmas we throw ourselves a party and play Holiday Mahj. We buy a gift spending our earnings (or losses) from the year. We Charleston our gift and then each take a turn open the won we received from the Charleston!
Thus where holiday mahj tiles began to grow in my heart and dreams. The warmth, magic, clacking of the tiles, laughter, crying, drinking, eating, celebrating, venting, rejoicing, helping, while sharing life together over the years; the game of mahjong has become so much more than what you’ll receive in our shipping box.
We cherish these moments and special occasions, celebrated around our mahjong table year round, so much that I wanted to share it with every woman out there!
